Watching Them Eat Chocolate Chip Pancakes With Blueberries

SAM_1410

I don’t know if you guys know thisĀ but, I don’t like blueberries. There is a long story behind the reason why, but all that matters is that at the end of the day IĀ can’t eatĀ fresh blueberries. Yes, fresh blueberries. I know it’s weird, but I find them disgusting. They taste like medicine. I can eat them frozen (like in a smoothie), I can even stomach them baked (sometimes). But I cannot eat a fresh blueberry. They’re gross. The reason I bring this up is because, everybody else in my family loves them. They can eat them on anything sweet, and I just don’t understand this nonsense. Take the other day, for example. They put them on chocolate chip pancakes.

SAM_1414

Who needs blueberries when there areĀ chocolate chips? I can understand strawberries, bananas, or even raspberries (which I love)Ā but blueberries are just a bit much in my personal opinion. Maybe that’s because I find them disgusting. I had the very same thing for breakfast, by the way, and it was still very good without the blueberries.

SAM_1416

I don’t know if down the line I’ll like blueberries. It wouldn’t be completely unheard of for me because there was a time when I didn’t like avocados, cream of wheat, or mushrooms as well. Either for their smell, texture, or both. But now I can stomach avocados, but only sometimes; and I can handle cream of wheat but only a little. And the only time I can stand mushrooms is when they are on a pizza, and even then I have to take off the big pieces. There’s actually a list of foods I don’t like or have to be cooked a certain way or can’t eat too much of with getting nauseous. My sister actually says I don’t like “food” but that’s impossible because I eat all the time and enjoy it. So, there. I would go into that now, but I am going to have to save that one for a rainy day because I know just how badly you guys want to hear about it.

SAM_1418

What foods don’t you guys like as much as I don’t like blueberries (among other things)? Tell me in the comment section below! Until later.Ā Sage Out.

French Toast and Goddess Oolong Tea Breakfast

SAM_3469

I had breakfast again today. And it was very delicious. It consisted of gluten-free bread, with your regularĀ egg, milk, and cinnamonĀ covering, fresh strawberries, plums, and blueberries with crushed almonds.

SAM_3465

Top it off with some maple syrup, and it was a breakfast for the ages.

SAM_3472
To drink, I had Goddess Oolong tea from Adagio’s.

SAM_3474
I got it online for my mom online for her birthday and it tastes so fresh and clean and smooth. It gives energy and helps for losing weight though that wasn’t really a concern of ours. What was a concern was the fact that itĀ also depletes your calcium which we learned only after my mom started losing her nails. It’s a gift to remember.

SAM_3463

Just remembering breakfast gives me happy feelings. What did you have for breakfast this morning?

How To Make A Gluten-Free Open-Faced Smoked Salmon Sandwich (The Perfect Go-To Breakfast!)

Picture1_768x453

I had breakfast again today, guys (shocker, I know). And it was so fantabulous, I decided to share it with you all. It started out as a late breakfast, and the only reason I was eating was because my mom insists that IĀ eatĀ for some strangeĀ reason.Ā She says, “It’s necessary to live.”Ā  I think she’s lying. Ā But, despite my skepticism, I went into the kitchen looking for something to eat. At first my attempts were fruitless, as I picked up multiple types of snacks (chips, nuts, popcorns, and the likes) and decided I wanted none of them. My stomach growled as I realized I was indeed hungry and I was not finding food fast enough to feed the stomach that was currently chewing on my arm (guess the reference and tell me in the comments below!). And as it turns out, you do need food to live. So, with my head held low in shame for having been wrong about human mortality, I grabbed the gluten-free bread to begin making my perfectĀ go-to breakfast.

Picture2_768x576

My family and I don’t use toasters, so, I start with a heated pan (fairly high depending on your stove top and pan type), with no oil in it, to “toast” the bread.Ā  After that I added mayonnaise. I prefer Hollywood’s safflower oil mayonnaise because it is much lighter and less salty (also high in antioxidants and vitamin E which is a plus), but if you don’t have that olive oil mayonnaise also works, which is actually what I used in these pictures because weĀ are out of the other kind.

Picture3_768x576

With mayonnaise comes great responsibility, so I also added a little bit (okay, a lot) of Dijon mustard (my favorite, doesn’t really matter what brand you get as longĀ as it doesn’t have high fructose corn syrup or sodium nitrites (and all that good bad stuff in it– keep note, that is just a joke it really is bad for you) in it.)Ā While you are doing this I would add your smoked salmon to the stove, unless, of course, you prefer raw smoked salmon which works just as well if that’s your style.

Picture4_768x576

Then, with however much smoked salmon you like, add it to your bread, olive oil or safflower oil mayonnaise, and Dijon mustard.

Picture12_768x288

Then, slice up some tomatoes, and put them on top. And, though I forgot it in these pictures, I would also add chia seeds for digestion.

Picture7_768x576

Picture13_768x288

And because peaches are delicious, I slicedĀ those up and had them as a side but you can choose any fruit. These were fresh and sweet, which cut the salt from the smoked salmon.

Picture10_768x576

With a cold glass of water or hot tea, this is the perfect go-to breakfast. It literally takes seconds to make and it’s delicious whenever and wherever. You could also add avocado, if that’s your thing. But I was lazy, so today it was not my thing. Whatever. Don’t judge.

Picture11_768x576

Okay, so that’s all. Tell me what you think in the comment section and whether you are a cooked smoked salmon kind of person or an as-is type of person!

Here, I usually have this ending where I tell you to check out the “idea” page and whatnot, but I am going to stop doing that from now on. I’ve noticed that trying to figure out something new to try to do is actually very pressing and stressful. But, because I still like the idea I still encourage you to drop me an email or comment telling me new things to try out so I don’t have to think about it myself. šŸ™‚

I am still in the works of writing a post about yaoi for my little experiment, and I watched a lot of ’em with suggestions from a reader after my very traumatizing experience with a certain yaoi I won’t mention the name of, whom I will mention when I get the post done. It is just taking longer than I thought it would, so be patient with me. That is all for today. Until next time. Bye. Ciao. ė°”ģ“ ė°”ģ“. Aloha. Peace.

5 Easy Steps to Surviving the DMV

Picture1.2I don’t have a car. Yet. And I’m not allowed behind the wheel. Yet. I don’t even have a permit. Yet. Ā While we’re on the subject, I haven’t eaten. Yet.

But that didn’t keep me from going to the DMV with my sister while she went to go get her permit. LikeĀ most people we woke up at the butt crack of dawn in order to get there before the masses. But just like us, most people had that idea and we didn’t get there before then, but we still got a prime parking spot right in front of the building. It was literally melting outside and I was sitting in the car next to somebody who likes to smoke, and so because I like to live, I had to stay in the car with the window rolled up. While there I came up with five easy steps on how to survive the DMV

Picture2.1

Step 1: Bring Food.

Food is a creature comfort. And while at the DMV, dealing with attitudes and clipped responses, you need comfort. So rather than talking to that creepy guy that is literally breathing down your neck behind you and smells likeĀ crackers and cologne, go sit down and stuff your mouth with some snacks. What I brought:

Picture3.1

A Kashi bar, which this one in particular is actually a lot saltier than you’d think it’d be. It’s got chocolate, which is not overly sweet, and almonds.Ā They’re surprisingly filling and great when you’re in a hurry or, in this case, trying to avoid talking to somebody. This is what they look like melted because in order to tell if something is good, you need to see it melted:

Picture4.1

Picture5.3

Don’t forget your fruit (I’m being funny, by the way, I know apples aren’t fruits):

Picture6.1

Applesauce. We get these in boxes from Costco. And because they’re easy and portable (and I didn’t bring a spoon), I just slurped it up, using my tongue to reach what wouldn’t slide out. It’s an art form with classes available UCSAGE (Sign up before all the spots are taken!).

Picture7.1

It was over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, when we went. So, I couldn’t forget to hydrate. I was:

ā™«ā™Ŗ On my early-mornĀ thirsty. ‘Cause it was early-morn and I was thirsty! ā™«ā™Ŗ (Guess the song and put your answer in the comment section!)

Step 2: Bring Something to Read

There are so many different ways to read nowadays, so choose your favorite. I personally prefer the real thing to reading something on a device or getting it read to me. How do you prefer to read? If you’re not a big reader or wouldn’t know what to read, stop by the library the day before and try a new genre. Or if you usually only read romances, pick up a sci-fi or mystery. If that’s not really your thing, try a different version of romance. Like a romantic comedy, mystery romance, paranormal romance, or erotica. If it’s already hot, why not turn it up a notch?!

Picture12

I brought Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman. It was my first time reading it, andĀ  because I absolutely adored the movie I thought why not try the book? Because you always judge a book by it’s movie. I learned that from the Twilight course at UCSAGE.

Step 3: Bring A Journal

Just because you bring a journal doesn’t mean you have to write in it, if writing is not your thing or you simply can’t think of anything to write. You can always sketch or try drawing a cartoon from memory such as SpongeBob or Diego.

Picture8.1

I brought my photographer’s notebook from Target, and practiced drawing anime hair and eyes expressing different emotions:

Picture9.1

I know, I know. Impressive, right?

Step 4: Bring Music

The radio doesn’t always have what you need, I know this from experience. I clean up the kitchen every other day on rotation with my kid sister and when I do I like to listen to music. More specifically, the radio, because some of (most of) the music on my mp3 is dated. And sometimes (most of the time), when I clean the kitchen, the radio is doing a segment of about 2 hours of slow jams. Like,Ā oh myĀ gosh.Ā What the frak? Jump off of her and go to sleep so I can listen to music that is actually worth my while. It is a Tuesday and you have work tomorrow you guys do not need to be smashing pancakes right now. And besides, who’s going to want to listen to a remix of Love in the Club while they’re getting it on, only for the next thing to play to be five minutes of ads? Talk about a mood killer.

Picture11.1_brightened

Anywho, try downloading a few new songs or listening to some old songs you downloaded and haven’t heard in a while. Note: On my mp3 (which shows the wrong time, by the way), I changed the language to Korean to help me learn Hangeul, which I have actually gotten pretty good at:

Picture10.1

On the screen it says: (top) Artist, (bottom) Shuffle Mode, (right) Album.

Step 5: People Watch

Last but not least, there’s always the ever fun people watching. My sisters and I like to pick out people, guess their names and their background. Or we’ll choose some random guy and pretend that guy’s one of our boyfriends. Guessing what they’re saying is also a blast.

Extra! Extra! Read All About It:

You can also take selfies, paint your nails (if you’re a girl), paint your nails (if you’re a guy), play games, watch a show or movie on your Iphone/ROKU and by the time you realize all of that stuff is boring, it’ll be time to go. You’re Welcome.
